Chishui City, the place where the Red Army crossed the Chishui River for four times during the Long March, has a Long history of 800 years.
It is located in the hilly transit area from the northern foot of Daloushan Mountain to the Sichuan Basin. It has a humid sub-tropical monsoon climate. Chishui is rich in water resource. The reserve quantity in theory is 330,000 kilowatt and the electricity energy production will be 830 million kilowatt hour. There are many kinds of other resources such as natural gas, coal, bittern and silica. Chishui as well has a great deal of forests. There are 1,490,0OO mu of forests with the forest cover rate of 55.24%. Chishui is a fruit base in Guizhou Province. More than 40 kinds of sub-tropical fruits are planted there.
