The geographical conditions of Baoji city are quite favorable. Situated at the juncture of Shaanxi, Gansu and Sichuan Provinces, Baoji used to be an important stop on the ancient Silk Road, thus attracting a large number of businessmen since the old times.

Geography and Climate
Baoji located at the point of intersection of 106"20'E -108"10' and 33"40'N - 35"8'N Lying in west of Guanzhong plain in Shaanxi in the south and is contiguous to Tianshui city, the southern part of Gansu and Pingliang city in Gansu province.
With Qinling Mountains in the south and west, the southern rim of plain terrain in the north, and with Weihe River running across the city from west to east, Baoji is characterized by the typography of plains. It is 450 metres to 800 metres above the sea level. Taibai Mountainm, the main peak of Qinling Mountains, is located in the Taibai county which is 3,767m above the sea level.
Baoji is characterized by the continental monsoon climate. The seasons here are easily distinguished and the sunlight is abundant. The annual average temperature ranges from 8??C to 13??C, and the yearly average precipitation from 610 to 697mm.
