1)Chrysanthemum Stone Carving

Chrysanthemum Stone Carving is the specialty of Hunan province. Every piece of this kind of carving is made according to the natural patterns of the chrysanthemum stone, therefore, every piece is shaped in a unique figure. Our graduate school reinforced the cultural connotation at the basis of the earlier stage carving, and makes every piece the crystal of the combination of sculpture, poem, calligraphy, and painting, which establishes its fame as the high grade handicraft with eastern characteristics.Meanwhile, we also present ostrich egg sculpture, carved frame couplets, and so on.

2)Black tea
Black tea is one of major item exported from Hunan. Hunan black tea consists of three major categories of congou, broken graded and O.P tea with more than 50 detailed standard numbers. It enjoys good reputation in international market, by its dark color, lasting aroma, fragrant taste and bright liquid. It's mainly delivered to Russia, Eastern Europe, America, Canada, Western Europe, Middle East, and so on.

3)Green tea

Hunan Green Tea is characterized by compact, cylindrical and straight shape, heavy fragrance and yellowish green colour.

4)Xiang Embroidery

Combining merits of Su embroidery and Yue embroidery with local embroidery, Xiang embroidery came into being in the later Qing dynasty. However, Hunan's local embroidery had a long history. Archeologists have discovered fine silk embroidery items in the Chu and Han Tombs, which were both more than 2,000 years ago.

Compare with the other embroideries, it is unique in style. Its unique embroidery techniques facilitate tiger patterns embroidery, which Xiang embroidery is famous for. Although it features techniques of painting, engraving, calligraphy and embroidery, it is generally based on the Chinese painting. Now, it has developed a new unmatched embroidery product - Double-face and Different Images Embroidery, which features different images and colors on each side of the transparent chiffon.

5)Non-ferrous metals and Rare metals

It is rich in mineral resources, such as non-ferrous metals, and rare metals, which occupy an important place in China. The important metals are stibium, lead, zinc, tungsten, fluorite, aluminum, mercury, kaolin, manganese, tin, vanadium, etc.

6)Phoenix Blue Printed Cloth:

It is produced by Phoenix Miao Autonomous County in West Xiang.
It has a long history and about 5 types. One is a kind of traditional stone dye, which belongs to page-dye art and is usually used for quilt, door curtain, etc. One is orthodox discharge, which belongs to painting art and mains in country picture. One is color decoration and wax printing, excelling in color change. One is knit dip-dye, which belongs to knit printing and mains in expressing traditional culture of Miao Nationality. The other is modern dye, which belongs to needle dip-dye. With soft and comfortable touch, it has delicate paintings, deep conception and strong national characteristics, it is welcome all over the world.

7)Bohemia Nivea Fiber:

In Ming Dynasty, Liuyang Summer cloth was well known and people struggled to purchase it. The clothes made of it wears comfortably, absorbs moisture, prevents moldy, washes well and dry quickly. The material of Liuyang Summer Cloth is boehmeria nivea rich manufactured in Hunan Province.
Boehmeria Nivea has a history of over 5000 years. At present, Hunan Province is the important produce area of bohemia nivea in the whole country, the produce quantity ranks first and occupies 1/3 of the total quantity when it is rich manufactured. Bohemia naive fiber industry is one of advantages of Hunan province. In the quality and technical development, Hunan Province leads first in the field, Linen whiten Shuanli Yarn, gained national quality gold prize, 9.5N linen Yarn gained silver prize of national quality, and 12 products gained excellent prize in fiber industry department. In Second Beijing International Exhibition, whiten chiffonelle and DTAAA 36N linen yarn gained “gold cup” prize, cotton and linen union cloth and linen high-density cloth gained “silver cup” prize. The exported products are bohemia nivea yarn, scribbled, bohemia nivea interwoven, union cloth, bohemia nivea interwoven, blend knit cloth, knit clothes, handy summer cloth, handkerchief, towel, sheet, cabals, etc., which mainly are exported to U.S., Japan, West Ocean, South-east Asia, Hong Kong and Macao.

8)Liling Underglaze Color Porcelain:

Liling in Hunan Province is the second largest porcelain city in our delicate in quality, unique in shape, brilliant in decoration, and is awarded “the pearl in eastern art” and “the first porcelain in the world.”
Underglaze color porcelain began to be manufactured in Changsha kiln in Tang Dynasty and brown, green and gray at that time. This craft is one pioneering work in porcelain history in our country. Since 1979, it has had several products which has gained national gold prize, Beijing International Exhibition Gold Prize and Excellent Product Prize of Light Industrial Department.
It is white like jade, bright like glass, thin like paper, and sound like clock. It is not only daily gear, but also treasured work of art. In 1964, Premier Zhou chose it as dinner set of national feast. It was awarded to Nixon, Tianzhong Jiaorong, Jinricheng, Xihanuke as gifts.
At present, it is sold to over 250 superior hotels and over 60 countries or regions.

9)Liuyang Chrysanthemum Scripture:

It is a rare craft carved according to the natural patterns of stone, which is like lively chrysanthemums. Liuyang in Hunan Province is the unique manufacture place in the world. It appears for over 200 years. In 1915, stone chrysanthemum bottle and transverse screen of plum blossoms, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum carved by the famous carver, Dai Qingsheng, gained the first gold prize in Banama International Exhibition and thus chrysanthemum scripture became well-known.

10)Dongkou Black Quartz Scripture

It has a history of 300 years. It is also called black jade, purple stone, Chu stone, and is the specialty in Xuefeng Mountainous region. Owning to its exquisite quality, black and smooth, it was called “black agate” as well. With the development of the traditional craft, over ten thousand carving works have been created.
It is smooth and fine like jade carving, and crude and bold as scripture, which make it obviously distinguished with the other stone carving.

11)Shaoyang Reversible Bamboo Carving:

It is excellent countryside crafts in our country. It appeared in Qianlong Period of Qing Dynasty and has a history of over 200 years. In 1915, it first shows its art glamour to the foreign countries in Banama Exhibition. The attending product was a lotus-leaf vase made by 5 carvers and gained silver medal.
It wins for the natural color of bamboo. When making, firstly, choose excellent quality and usable phyllostachys pubescent and get rid of the interior things. After special processing and sticked with wood, it can be made into many shapes, then carved with patterns. As a result it is made after 80 procedures. In the carving technique, internal screw carve mostly embodies the characteristics of carving technique.

12)Yiyang Water Bamboo Summer-sleeping-Mat

Yiyang is the cradle of water bamboo summer-sleeping mat, which is well-known because of relieving summer heat. It has a history of 600 years. In Ming and Qing Dynasty, it was listed as tributes.
It is dark green, smooth and very beautiful. It can be filled casually. The more peculiar is feel more and more cool after sleeping on it. After several summers, the color turns orange or brownish red from dark green.
A water bamboo summer sleeping mat, with 6 ft long and 4 ft wide needs 35kg water bamboo. 13 production processes are operated by hand. Especially the bamboo sheets are soft and flexible.

13) Linwu Dragon Palpus Grassmat

Linwu County in South Xiang produces dragon palpus grassmat, which is warm in winter and cool in summer and adaptable in four seasons. In late North Song Dynasty, it was produced, and it is the traditional famous craft in Linwu County. In 1950s, it was honored “the unique handicraft I the world” in Laibixi International. Arts and Crafts Exhibition and is exported check-free product up to now. The former national honorary chairman-Song Qingling, once inscribed to admire it.
The production procedure is quite strict and every process is done strictly. When collecting, you had better choose days with decry nights. The collected Chinese alpine rush should be processed at once, and the procedures should be finished within three days. It is smooth, soft, elegant and pretty. Sleeping on it, you will feel warm in winter and cool in summer, specially suitable for the aged and young and disabled. Owning to its soft, it is suitable to be put on soft seats, and it can be folded as will, thus it is adaptable to be taken in travel. In Southeast Asia, it is deeply welcomed. Early ten months of 1993, 5000 mats sell to Singapore, Thailand, Middle Africa, etc.

14) Tu Nationality Brocade

One of Four-Famous Brocade is Tu Nationality Brocade, which is produced by Tu Nationality in West Xiang of Hunan Province.
The characteristics of it are eccentric in conception, exquisite in knit, rich in patterns, brilliant in color and magnificent and simple. It was knitted with silk, floss, and wool and has more than 100 patterns.
Choosing traditional knitting methods, it is even, solid, durable and the lustre can keep for a long time.

15)Qiyang Grassmat

It has a long history of 300 years.
It is delicate in making, flat and smooth in surface, beautiful in patterns, brilliant in colors, soft and high abrasive. Sleeping on it in summer, you will feel comfortable and cool, especially the natural fragrance let you feel the freshness of villages. It is well known and sold to all over the world. Besides the knitting, the grassmat is the raw material of superior papers. Its root and white core of stem can be used for medicine, having the effects of clearing heat, detoxicating, causing dieresis and tonifying stomach.

16)Qiyang Grassmat

It appears between late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty, and is one of three famous fans in China. Its types add up to 200, and the main types are paper fan, feather fan, silk fan, bone fan, palace fan, cap fan, light fan, incienso fan, play and dance fan and decoration fan.
Yuezhou Feature Fan is made of the features of wild goose, wild duck, etc. in Dongting River. Its making process is quite complex and exquisite. The bone of the fan is made of ox bones and bamboo and this it is very light and beautiful. The picture in the fan is based on the Chinese Painting, choose the skill of brushwork and broad materials such as places of interest, flower, birds, worm and fish, famous couplet and articles, historical people, myth. It’s reported that a gold fan needs hand operation, and after technical reformation, the production gears have been put in every process and thus reducing the labor intensity and increasing labor efficiency.

17)Yiyang Tin Pan:

Tin pan Manufacture Field in Yiyang City of Hunan Province began on Song Dynasty and has a history of over 800 years. The tin pan produced in Yiyang City is well known as “South Pan” and “Guang Pan”, and sold all over the country 150 years before and later spread to Taiwan. With the advantages of unification of specifications, evenness, smoothness, adaptable allocation and long standing, it lasts long.
Yiyang Tin Pan has improved newly and Yiyang City has become the main manufacture place of tin pan. Yiyang Xiangzhong Pan Factory is the famous factory in state, and produce 1,200,000 per year, over 5000 tons, over 50 kinds of specifications, occupying 75% of exported tin pans in state and 30% of tin pans in state. Xiangzhong tin pan has once gained state silver prize for twice. Beside being light, thin, beautiful, lasting long and helpful to health, Yiyang traditional tin pan newly adds the functions of oxidize resistance, quick heat conduction and easy clearing, the lifespan is lengthened for four and five times. It is the new tin pan firstly created in our country and gained excellent-quality product prize in province and institute and gold prize in exhibition for many times.

18)Longhui Pelure Paper

It is mainly produced in Xiaoshajiang of Longhui County, which is over 1800 meters high.
It is famous because Longhui County rich produce vanishing skin.
It not only can be used for umbrella, sparklers, blasting fuse and slip-sheet, etc., but also an important industrial material. With the characteristics of whiteness, flexibility, evenness, it sells well. At present, Xiaoshajiang produces 30 thousand-kg pelure paper, occupying half of the total production. Besides tens of provinces such as Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangshu, Zhejiang and Hubei, it sells to Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and some countries and regions in Southeast Asia.

19)Liuyang Sparkler

On august 10th of 1993, Liuyang Sparkler gained silver prize in the ninth International Sparkler Match Committee in Mentelir City in Canada, which is the 4th times to gain international prizes.
