Ningxia

1)Red -- Chinese wolfberry or Fructus Lycil

3)Blue -- Helan stone carving

It is collected from the Helan Mountain since ancient time. There has been a great fame for the ink-slab made of Helan stone. There is a Helan. This fine-textured stone is hard but not brittle. 4)White -- Tanyang (Tibet sheep) Lamb skin

The Lamb skins produced at the east slope of Helan Mountain are in very good quality with fine, soft and glistening like a piece of jade. The curly wool (up to 9 curls) when stirred gives the impression of ripples in a lucid lake. Ningxia Tanyang Lamb skin is a unique native product over the world.

5)Black -- Black Moss

Black Moss is a wild alga plant and looks like black hair, long and thin.

It is quite nutritious and very rich in protein (up to 20%). It is easily prepared and serves as a superb dish at banquets. As its Chinese name is pronounced as "facai" (meaning: 'good fortune' and 'making a lot of money'), it is therefore an ideal gift sent to your relatives and friends.

As for Tourist Souvenir, there are Helan ink-slabs, seals of Helan stone, Tanang Lamb skin and other variety of local handcrafts.

6)Lamb furs

Produced from month-old local lambs, the furs are famed for their unusual lightness. Clothes made from such furs are comfortable and warm. Wool from this kind of sheep makes superb material for jacquard blankets.

7)Ningxia licorice roots

A common herbal drug with wide-ranging curative effects as well as an ingredient for patent drugs.

8)Helan stone

Quarried from Helan Mountain, the stone is an excellent material for the making of a kind quality ink slabs.

10)Guokui

There is a characteristic snack called Guokui in Guyuan, also a food very popular with Guyuan people. 　　
　　As far as Guokui's history concerned, the legend has it that King Li Ye and Queen Wu Zetian had people build their mausoleum when they took power.Since the engineering was very huge,as a result, 20,000-30,000 skillful craftsmen and people were gathered together to build the huge mausoleum.The problem of getting hungry attributed to so many people centering there.To solve the problem,supervisor minister distributed flour directly to people. As long as noon drew near, people baked flour cakes by using iron helmets, which were delivered by supervisor minister to protect builders from unexpected injury. Once Queen Wu Zetian inspected the process of engineeringr, followed by many ministers, she was much lured by a strong sweet smell. When she knew what it was at last, she coundn't keep herself tasting a baked flour cake by builder and spoke highly of Guokui.
Later,the baking way of Guokui spread over the country,today, Guokui become a dish used by Guyuan people to host guests.

11)Yellow Wine

Every family in Pengyang has the practice to brew liquor, this liquor is called Yellow Wine.Yellow Wine has become a must for Pengyangers to host guests. It is very rarefied to brew yellow wine in terms of technics.
Yellow Wine contains rich Vitamins and sugar and Aminophenol, honored the Best of Liquors. The old and stale Yellow Wine is best. Only stale yellow wine toasts sweet and pure, and it is helpful to improve your memory and keep fit.

12)Baked Chicken

It is a pity for tourists who didn't taste baked chicken while traveling in Guyuan. Of course, the delicious baked chicken is the local chicken, with meet chicken coming as the second.
